The Challenge
The homeowner originally contacted us to repair several damaged cedar shake shingles and portions of the soffit before repainting the home.
As our carpentry team began replacing the damaged cedar shakes, an unexpected challenge became obvious.
The newly installed cedar shakes looked significantly newer and healthier than the aging shakes surrounding them. While the repairs themselves were completed correctly, the contrast highlighted just how much of the existing siding had reached the end of its service life.
Rather than simply continue with the original scope, we paused the project and discussed the situation with the homeowner.
